Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Rajsamand, My feelings and emotions for JNVR

I dwell upon a feeling of buoyant proud acclaiming to anyone that I am a student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Rajsamand. Interestingly, this is the only Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in the Country the name of which coincides with the name of the district it is situated in. I beg your pardon and seek correction if I am wrong.
The day on which I was selected for J.N.V has a due place in my memories. For me it was dream come true. While I was in primary school, I was awed and amazed by the display of discipline of J.N.V students on the Independence Day and Republic Day Parades.

My father did all he could do to get me in the J.N.V. he bought for me The Amar Navodaya Guide and thus began my preparations for the entrance exams. We even went to meet Mishraji, the principal of the school, a humble and down to earth man.

My entrance exam was something about which I felt so happy as I remember that there was no question beyond the limits of my reasoning. I was among those few students who were selected in the urban category.
It was 5th July 1990 and I was 10 years old when I became a part of the J.N.V family. Unlike many others, I didn’t cry even on the first day of the school. I was filled with a feeling of joy. We were issued all the necessary stuffs on the first day itself. An under such strict discipline I looked forward to utilize the next seven years of my life productively, without my parents. Those seven years that I spent in the school were the most volatile years, a period of transition and development, physical, mental and emotional, namely adolescence.
Maheshwari ji, Mathematics teacher, JNVR
Mine was one the important Navodaya of Jaipur region. It had got the best biology, mathematics, music and Hindi teacher of the state (and I hope that the school has still maintained that standard, the music band of JNVR was very famous and proves to be superior to the police band.

I completed my seven important in 1997; I was one of the average students. Now I am doing my Ph.D. Today whatever I am, I think that there is a great contribution from the things I learned from the school

What I learned at Navodaya is something that I couldn’t I had been in some other school.
This question is really difficult, because we do not know our future. I can only say that the best thing I learned from the Navodaya is to survive in any situation and condition, which made me down to earth, which is extremely different. The brand name of Navodaya was enough but if I compare our self and other friends from other schools, we find our self having some special qualities which make us an important member of our group. I am still proud to say that I was a student of Navodaya school, almost everybody in India know about Navodaya, whether it is in Bihar or in Rajasthan.
I was involved in almost all activities. I was an above average student and was a member of science, computer, art, and music clubs. This is one of the important advantages of the Navodaya which allow us to participate in all the fields. Apart from this, I learned a third language, Gujarati, which was not possible in the local school. But at the same time, I could not learn Sanskrit.

In my opinion, I have not faced so many problems during my days in Navodaya. Food at our school was good, not like home, but overall it was good. Most of the teaching staffs ware best teachers selected from all over the India. The main problems ware related to logistics like open toilets, bathroom.

The concept of Navodaya is very nice, to raise the poor intelligent students and teach them to a certain level so that they can have a good life and contribute to the development of a nation. I personally feel that Navodaya is doing a great job but the purpose is not solved completely. It puts a poor student in the middle of the river, if you have the boat, you can reach the end, if you don’t then …, and this is the problem faced by most of my friends. Some of my friends could afford to take the IIT, PET, PMT coaching classes and got admission in engineering. Some of my friends did not had enough money that time and compromised themselves to take the admission in the local college and some did not had money at all for the further studies. Just think, one poor student selected for Navodaya gets the education till 12th and after that has no money to continue his further studies and he will also not get the job after 12th. School should either arrange further studies for such poor students or arrange some special recruitment in defense services. It would be best choice for defense to get a student who is already used to independent life from his childhood.

The number of Navodaya students selected for engineering or medical are comparatively less, its not because students are poor in studies, it’s only because absence guided preparation. School should arrange some two months courses, after 12th exam, for the preparation of such examinations. Special Career oriented short courses should be offered.

In my school, boys and girls were discriminated; they were not allowed to do many things. I strongly suggest removing this difference. They should be discriminated up to a certain extent. After joining my university, I really had troubles speaking with other girls, at the same time other boys were talking very frankly. It took almost 3 years for me to come out of this problem.

Navodaya is not a good place for very poor students or for very rich students; it’s a best place for the intelligent student, who belongs to middles class family who can continue their further studies. I belonged to lower middle class family, it would be impossible for my father to afford me the class of education that I received from Navodaya.

I still dream sometimes that we had been called again to study in Navodaya and we are studying. When I go in my childhood days, I miss my life of Navodaya, where I had more freedom within the campus. I would like to acknowledge all of the teachers and friends for whom I have lot of respect and love.

I can conclude that I learnt many things from my school which makes me different among others in the way I approach the life but still I do not know what I could have learnt without it.

How to invite parents to italy from India for short visit on visto tourismo?

We Indians are quite attached to our parents, many of use are looking a simple way to Invite our parents to show them the western world. I hope that this post would help you in Inviting your parents to Italy for a short visit of maximum up to 90 days.

Documents required.

In addition to the application form, valid passport and recent photograph, You need the following docs.

1. letter of invitation (from sponsor)
Download from here and complete it.

3. Medical insurance ( 30,000 Euros) / Overseas travel insurance
It will cost around 3000 INR for 90 days, you can ICICI lombard overseas travel insurance

You can calculate the amount before buying the insurance. It is calculated per day basis.

You can buy it online from anywhere in the world with your credit card, also for your parents, just pretend that your parents are buying in India.

4. Bank Guarantee from the sponsor.
Bank Guarantee is "Fidejussione bancaria" in italia, ask you bank if they are ready to give, I am not sure how much they charge, but I heard they it may go upto 500 EUR.

Alternative of this is the Currency conversion endorsement on the passport of your parents, you can ask any travel agent, and they can endorse for you or your parents after taking 500-1000 INR. This is good option. If you are inviting for only few days, then better to go for real endorsement

6. Confirmed ticket booking.
7. Employer NOC if they are working.

I am sorry about ration card, its not required.

After having these documents ready, take the appointment and visit vfs italy, (you can also take the appointment for them online.)

I hope these documents are enough, If they require more documents, they will let your parents know. they are very cooperative.

I have experience inviting my wife from delhi,

they asked for my wife bank account statement even she is a house wife, I do not know why, I was lucky that she has 6 month old account with 5000 INR and only single transaction, they accepted that.

I think this is the simplest and cheapest way to call your parents or your spouse to invite to Italy.

Some rules are different for Mumbai / kolkatta consulate and Delhi embassy

If you have any question, please leave a comment, I would be very happy to answer.

b2 branchfree banking by ICICI bank, no minimum balance, no charges, total free banking

You might have already heard about ORANGE account or conto arancio by Ingdirect which has been a great success in USA and Europe.

Now, ICICI bank, India's number one private bank, has launched its first Indian branchfree banking, names b2 branchfree banking. This concept comes with the technological improvements in the banking sector. Just remember how many times you have visited your ICICI bank branch after opening the account and you need to maintain a minimum balance of Rs 5000., I have my branch in XXX and I have never visited my branch for the last two years and I still operate my account. The only difference with the new b2 branchfree banking is that you will not have your branch defined, but your account will work in the same way as it used to work with ICICI bank. The advantage of being b2 branchfree banking customer is
  1. Higher earnings
  2. payments and transactions
  3. Zero balance (No minimum balance)
  4. Online customer service
  5. Quantum optima facility
  6. Zero expenses

Quantum optima facility, if the balance exceeds Rs 5000, the money is automatically transferred, in multiples of Rs 5000, to a linked fixed deposit which will earn ICICI bank fixed deposit rates. This facility was available in ICICI bank but later they removed it. new b2 branchfree banking also offers facilities like an e wallet a zero limit pre paid visa card which can be used for online purchases and to pay utility bills.

I do not why, but this facility is only available to customers residing in the folloign Indian cities

  1. Ahmedabad
  2. Bangalore
  3. Calcutta
  4. Chandigarh
  5. Chennai
  6. Delhi
  7. Faridabad
  8. Ghaziabad
  9. Gorgaon
  10. Hyderabad
  11. Jaipur
  12. Mumbai
  13. Navi Mumbai
  14. Noida
  15. Pune
  16. Secunderabad
  17. Thane

Goa is not available on the web site, but I received the mail from ICICI bank representative that its available in GOa also, HOw??

If you belong to any of the cities, you can open the account and enjoy free banking.

This is the truely 100% Indian account with zero opening fee and zero balance.

Traveling to Germany and schengen area is allowed with expired permit and poste intalian receipt (permesso+ricevuta)

The new circular published on http://www.interno.it/
"Dal 1° agosto 2008 al 31 gennaio 2009 i cittadini in attesa di regolarizzazione del permesso di soggiorno possono transitare nell’area Schengen"
according to this new circular, starting from 1st AUG 2008 to 31 Jan 2009, one can transit via schengen countries while going to their home country with the expired permit and ricevuta along with a passport.

Update: Recently I found on the Fragomen site, which says that "Both first time and renewal applicants may travel to Schengen countries if they obtain a temporary travel residence permit directly from their local police station (Questura)."

Please do not believe this Fragmon website, Now I have found the link on the Official Journal of the European Union, where the poste italiana ricevuta along with the expired residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) is allowed as a residence permit to travel to schengen states/ countries.

The Update of the list of residence permits has been Published and can be downloaded from the following link:

You can find this text in this article

ITALY
Additional type of residence permit
— Special Italian Post Office receipt for residence permit renewal application The use of the Special Italian Post Office receipt is possible exclusively in conjunction with the passport of the alien and the expired residence permit. This receipt will be used from 1 August 2008 until 31 January 2009.

Now you can take the printout of this pdf to avoid any confusion.

This article is exclusively for Update of the list of residence permits referred to in Article 2(15) of Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a Community Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders (Schengen Borders Code) (OJ C 247, 13.10.2006, p. 1, OJ C 153, 6.7.2007, p. 5, OJ C 192, 18.8.2007, p. 11, OJ C 271, 14.11.2007, p. 14, OJ C 57, 1.3.2008, p. 31, OJ C 134, 31.5.2008, p. 14)

Article 2(15) of Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 of the European Parliament
15. ‘residence permit’ means:
(a) all residence permits issued by the Member States according to the uniform format laid down by Council Regulation (EC) No 1030/2002 of 13 June 2002 laying down a uniform format for residence permits for thirdcountry nationals (2);
(b) all other documents issued by a Member State to thirdcountry
nationals authorising a stay in, or re-entry into, its territory, with the exception of temporary permits issued pending examination of a first application for a residence permit as referred to in point (a) or an application for asylum;

Before this article on EU website, it was little bit confusing, whether this new circular allow us to travel to schengen countries or not. To avoid further confusion. I wrote an email to German embassy. At first reply they wrote to me that " unfortunately I have to inform you that the new circular only speaks about transit via Schengen countries on the way to your home country, not about business, holiday or family visit visa without leaving the Schengen area."

After few days, I received one mail from German embassy, Rome, which says that now german embassy has accepted this circular ans also allowed the foreigners in Italy having applied for their renewal of permesso can travel to Germany for a short visit (upto 90 days in every 180 days). Here is the mail

============================
Dear Sir

About two weeks ago we were informed by Italian officials, that, in contradiction to the new circular given by the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the postal receipt and the old Italian residence permit should also allow to go for short visits to other Schengen members. This information was given to us on demand and not circulated by Italian officials.

We verified the information, with the German border police, which was also not informed by the Italian authorities about the new regulations. Finally the German Ministry for Internal Affairs decided to accept the new Italian regulation, though it had not been published the correct way.
About a week ago the German Officials send out an order to all border controll postings, to accept the old Italian residence permit together with the Postal receipt and a valid passport as a valid travel document to enter Germany.

My reply to you was dated August 6th, so some time before the new regulation came out. By then the information was complete and correct.
I'm sorry that confusion is caused but I want to reiterate , that it is not the German authorities taking one decision and communicating another.

Sincerely
b.o.
Jana Kirch
