Cheapest way to reach Milan city from Malpensa airport (MXP) aeroporto di milano


There are three ways to reach Milan from the airport
  1. By Bus (7.00 EUR, 50 minutes)
  2. By Train (11.00 EUR, 40 minutes)
  3. By Taxi (Depends)

Bus is the cheapest mode of travel which takes you to Milano centrale (Milan central) stations and costs you 7-8 EUR today, please check the rate on the website. From Milan central you can take Trenitalia train to your desired destination. You can also take metro to reach different parts of the Milan.

The buses are available at Terminal 1-exit 6-stop 3 and it takes around 50 mins to 1 hour 10 minutes (during high traffic) to reach Milano centrale station.

There are two bus companies available

MALPENSA SHUTTLE AIR PULLMAN
This bus is available from 05.30 a.m. to 01.00 a.m. in every 20 minutes, more buses are available during summer. The bus stops also at Terminal 2 and, on request, at Polo Fieristico Rho/pero and Fiera Milano (via Teodorico). Tickets can be bought at Airport arrivals floor or on the bus. There would be one person at the gate of the Bus saling the tickets, so you can buy directly from him. You can also buy the tickets online.

MALPENSA BUS EXPRESS
This bus is available from 06.00 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. in every 30 mins, its little bit costly than malpensa shuttle bus. This bus stops also at Terminal 2 and, on request, at Fiera Milano (via Teodorico)

Between the two terminals a free shuttle bus is available every 15 minutes for 24 hours a day. There also some bus service connecting Linate and Malpensa airport.

Direct Buses to the following destinations are also available to and from airtport.
Milano, Torino, Lugano, Chiasso, Genova, Novara, Menaggio, Lago Maggiore, Domodossola, Gallarate, Castelnovate, Brescia, Bergamo and Verona.


BY TRAIN
MALPENSA EXPRESS FERROVIE NORD MILANO
This train runs from the ground floor of the airport to Milano cadorna station, (not the milan central railway stations) but this stations is well connected with suburban Milan transport system then central station. Check the map here

This train runs in every 30 minutes at 23 and 53 minute of the hour and takes 40 minutes to reach Milan, it also stops at Busto Arsizio, Saronno, Milano Bovisa and finally at Milano Cadorna

This ticket costs you 11.00 EUR for one side trip and 14.50 EUR one day return trip.. Tickets from and to the Malpensa Airport can be bought from all the ticket offices of the FERROVIENORD network (Milan branch only) from automatic self-service machines or from the Malpensa Express ticket offices located at Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 (floor -1) between 0530 hrs and 0020 hrs.
