How to upgrade the firmware of samsung YP-T10 music player?

I love my YP-T10 becuase of its unbeatable sound quality which much suerior than apple iPod. With the new firmware, you can play games, delete music files and use your T10 as handsfree device to make phone calls

In this blog I am describing the method to upgrate the firmware of your samsung music player.

Method 1:
you can upgrade the firmware using samsung emodio, (click here)
1. Connect your T10 with laptop
2. Start emodio
3. Go to MENU>>Portable Device>>Update firmware
emodio will check your firmware version and will update it.
You can also check you firmware version from MENU>>Portable Device>>firmware version check

If you do not want to download and install emodio, then follow this method

Method 2

This information is taken from the samsung website and tested personaly.

Note: Before upgrading the firmware on your YP-T10J, make sure the battery has sufficient power so that it will not power off during the upgrade. This may potentially cause damage to the device.

1. Go to Samsung Download centre, click here
2. Enter your model number in the “search by model number” field and click [search].
3. Click the [firmware tab] below the image of the YP-T10.
4. Click the zip file for the latest firmware version available and save the zip file to your Desktop or to your desired location
5. Uncompress or unzip the downloaded file onto your Desktop. You will see two files, one rom file and one rsc file (T10J.rom and T10J.rsc)
6. Copy and paste these two files at this directory (My Computer\T10\Internal Storage\)
7. Disconnect the YP-T10 from your computer.
8. Turn the power on. The firmware begins to install. “Updating Firmware”
first it will upgrade screen 2/5, and then T10 will shut down.
9.Turn the power back on. The firmware continues to update. When 5/5
has completed, the device will shut down again.
10. Now you will see your updated firmware with lot of new functionality like games, file deletion facility and new thems.

If you can't find the games You need to add the games BombBomb, Bubblesmile, chickenrunaway, Subway Map to Go, you need to download from the samsung website and past it desired location, click here to know how to do it.
