Internet explorer IE9 64-bit stopped working after Windows update in win7

If you have recently made changes or updated your PC and your IE9 has stopped working then you may try the following steps to solve the problem.
  1. Goto Control panel
  2. Click Internet Options in Network and Internet
  3. Click the Advanced tab, and then browse to the Accelerated graphics (Top).
  4. Click to select the Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering check box.
  5. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  6. Restart Internet Explorer 9.
It should work now.

You may also try the similar steps if your other browsers like Firefox, chrome etc is facing the similar problems.

  1. Thank you, this is the only sensible advice in the midst of hundreds of advices like "reinstall" or "you have a virus" or "search for hard drive corruption" etc etc and it happens that it was the correct one.
